Students were asked to write about games: computer games, phone games, board games or card games. Some students said they did not like these games, so they were asked to write about ‘why they think their friends love these games.’ Most students have a favorite game. Students were talking about LoL, DOTA, Minecraft, Glory of Kings, and many more. Most students appear to like games that challenge them where they play against other people. These games require concentration, creativity and coordination. They all like games that are not challenging, but these games are not often their favorite games. Students talked about how some of the people they meet become friends. No matter how far away they are, they can always talk to these people. Even people from other countries giving them an opportunity to practice some English with these people.

Students also talked about the drawbacks of video games. Some of these games can take up a lot of time or money. Some games can become very addictive, so everyone must be careful that they do not fall into this unhealthy trap. Hopefully everyone can find a healthy balance.

The students asked about any games that the teacher have played before. He said he used to play a game called “World of Warcraft” which most students have heard of. The game was made into a movie 3 years ago, so most students are familiar with it. he also like a game called “Command and Conquer”. It is a military strategy game with many easy and difficult levels.

Most of the students were very eager to share their thoughts and feelings about this topic. They were also very eager to know what kinds of games students played in Canada. The answer is, that students all over the world play the same kinds of games. Sports games, Simulation (SIM) games, War Games, and Strategy games are the most popular game types around the world.
